  on halloween night, police arrested two people who were dressed up individually as a battery and a firework rocket.

  they charged one and let the other off.. police in london are investigating the theft of dogs throughout the city.. they don't have any leads.. i found a large box filled with kodak 35 mm camera film, and handed it in to the police.. they said they'd let me know if there were any developments.. police recovered a valuable stolen microscope.. they say they're looking into it.. yorkshire police can't establish what's wrong with the sat-navs in their new fleet of squad cars.. they're still looking for leeds.. police are investigating the theft of a perpetual motion device.

  they say it's an ongoing inquiry.. the old ones are the best!

  i am lucky enough to live in a small cabin on a lake, i enjoy rowing my old boat and fishing, i play with car projects, and we travel as much as we can.

  they always have high numbers preaching hours.

  probably increase every decade.

  when i was a regular pioneer ( mid 60's) i used to stop off and knock a door to start my time--knock softly and dont hang around. My time clock stopped when i got home. So that could be 8 hours--or 4 if half a day. In that time it could be playing pin ball machines in a coffee bar..or ten pin bowling. Shopping. Visiting elderly members of the congregation--usually around lunchtime.

  If i needed to reach the magazine quota--i would hit the doors around 5 pm--as people were getting home from work. No long chat--sell 2 mags and away. Mag and book sales were quite profitable,-paid the petrol in my car. The only bible studies i conducted were with young unbaptised kids in the congregation--whilst their mum cooked dinner.

  over here it's the same half dozen or so that posts something, including myself.

  when i first looked at this site in 2010--i thought it was for still in jw's--so i didnt join. Only when someone i knew on a different forum told me the score that i joined.

  I was really confused as to who was still in--and who was out--so i asked for a show of hands--and got really hammered for asking. Most of those rude shits have long gone.

  In fact i think more have left--or died--than are active now.

  I have zero interest in anything religious--couldnt care less about whats in the bible. I'm on here for the gossip and scandal.

  i have just started to steep the mincemeat for my mince pies in dark rum .

  christmas is a big deal in my family and circle of friends.

  however among ex jws it's a bit different or so l understand.

  it will be an odd one for me this year. My wife is going home for a month ( Philippines)..to see her family--not been home since 2019. I'm not going.--so no decs or xmassy stuff this year

  "The Truth"

  we all know that jws consider the wt religion to be "the truth" and refer to it as such.. granted, that phrase is used repeatedly in the literature and from the platform.. but it's obvious that much of what the organization used to require jws to teach house-to-house as important truths--even within our own lifetimes--has been abandoned.

  it's been replaced by "new light" and "refined understanding.

  what's meant by "the 1914 generation" is a prime example.. in fact, i think it would be hard to find another religion that has changed so many of its teachings, especially in such a short period of time.. so why do jws still believe their religion to be "the truth"?.

  old news but uncle bruce wanted it dug up.... the guardian.

  22nd july 1985.. man killed in blast.

  at sydney service.. from richard yallop in melbourne.. one man was killed and 70 people were taken to hospital after a bomb exploded yesterday during a jehovah's witnesses service in a kingdom hall in the sydney suburb of lurnea.. the explosion occurred close to the speaker's dais just as mr. david winder, a visiting elder from the sydney suburb of prospect, had begun his address on loyalty to god and the family.

  i wonder if some non-human upright ape might have had that kind of feet that long ago.

  What decade or era in human history do you like the most or would have liked to live during?

  in the us, the 60s and 70s was a great time to be alive except for getting drafted if you wanted to be that age.

  they were music years,  greatest movies, fun, simpler and enjoyable days—also except for the d&ugs.
